1. Why do I get "the system could not find the appointed file" error?
  It could be due to some proxy incompatible problem. Try reload your page to login again. If the problem persist, try avoid using proxy to see if you could login successfully.
You may consult your network admin for more info on proxy.
   
2. How do I download my email via a POP3 mail client?
  If you are a Corporate subscriber, you may configure your MS Outlook Express with the following settings:
POP3 server: mail.your-domain.tld
User Name: your-email@your-domain.tld
For Eudora:
ID-name.company@mail.your-domain.tld

Note that you must use an appropriate ID prefix for your login name. You can find the full POP3 ID at the bottom of the first page after you login.

3. Why can't I send email with my mail client?
  If you are using mail.afteroffice.com as your SMTP server, youŽll need to download email first before you send. The server will recognise you as a valid user and allow you to send email within a time period.
   
4. I have many items in my mailbox to transfer to other email account. Is there an easy way for me to forward them all at once?
  Not at the moment. However you may move all your items into "Inbox" and logout. By doing this, all your items in "Inbox" will be available for POP3 download.
   
5. How do I transfer all my email address from Outlook Express to AfterOffice?
  Refer to this link http://www.afteroffice.com/doc/oe-csv/ to learn how you can export the email address from Outlook Express, and import it with AfterOffice address book.
   
6. I need to open multiple windows for chat on many Rooms that I have. How to do that?
  On Macintosh Netscape/Internet Explorer, hold down the Apple key (command) and click on the Room name.
On Windows browser, right click your mouse button on the Room name and choose "Open in new window".

   
7. The server keeps telling me that my storage is getting full, but I have cleared most of my email.
  Check the all of the mailboxes. Logout and login again to see the changes if you have just deleted bunch of email.
   
8. How do I delete my private meeting room?
  Only the admin of your company has the privilege to delete it.
   
9. I've got some garbage on the browser while clicking to download some attachments from email or files from Storage.
  Click on your mouse button on the file that you wanted to download, select "Save Target As" from the pop-up menu.
In most cases, the browser will ask you to save the download file instead of trying to display it.
You'll need to have appropriate application to deal with the correct file.
   
10. I've tried to create a test account but the system does not allow me to.
  Account name of "test" is reserved. You may create any account contains the word "test" (like test1, test2) but "test" alone is not allow.
   
11. I cannot delete files on my FTP directory which is given for uploading my home page.
  You have to use a FTP client software to manage your FTP account directory. Using Netscape/FrontPage is not sufficient for managing your web site.
You may download some of the FTP client software from:-

Perform a search on the keyword of "FTP client" and you should get a list of available FTP client software.
   
12. How do I get an FTP account?
  You can expect the FTP information available at "Profile"->"FTP". Only the Admin will have access to the information.
   
13. I am having problem to update my site via FTP, what are the issue I may look into?
  Verify the domain name, login name and password are all correct on your FTP client settings. Make sure the FTP client connecting to port 21 at the server.
If you still have problem, write down the error message produced by your FTP client and email it to AfterOffice support at support@afteroffice.com
   
14. Why I always get "Access to Secure Object failed (Session expired)" error on logout?
  Try not to double-click on the Logout link. All URLs on a web page should be clicked only once.
Double clicking on a link force the browser to issue same query to the server twice, and abandoning the first one
   
15. I have mistakenly drop a file to someone, how can I stop it?
  You can either move the file from its original folder or rename it. This prevents the recipient from retrieving the file correctly.
   
16. I need to download all my messages in the "Read" mailbox, but my mail client software gets nothing.
  Move your messages from "Read" mailbox to "Inbox" and logout. The messages will be made available to your mail client (POP3) after logout.
   
17. I get "Sorry, you are not allow to login at this moment for secure reason" when I try to login.
  Your last session is still active (not logout yet) and you are login from another computer (different IP).
You can wait for VO to expire your session and login later, or you may inform your admin to drop your session manually through the admin account.
   
18. How do I configure my proxy to be more friendly with AVO?
  Set your proxy to obey the Cache-header specification.
All HTML served from VO carry the instruction for proxy/browser to avoid cache.
   
19. I'm planning to use scripting on my website, what language can I use?
  We do not support scripting on the standard AVO package. Please send email to our support for your specific requirement.

20. How to capture all "undeliverable" email sending to my domain?
  You can create a new account as "postmaster". All undeliverable email sending to your domain will be captured in the account instead of bounced back to the sender.
   
21. How do I accept a dropfile?
  There are 2 steps in accepting a dropfile:
1. Getting to your drop box
Generally, when there is a drop file for you, a tray with filling paper will appear on the menu bar. You may click on the filling tray to take you right to the DropBox in your account.
Or
You may go to "Storage" and click on "dropbox" to view content within the Drop Box.
2. Accepting a drop file
Once you are in the Drop Box screen, you may check to select the incoming file(s). Click on "Accept" on the sub-menu and navigate to the folder in which you would like to place the file.
   
22. What if I want some users to use AVO and some users on local email only?
  You may install AfterMX at your local server to provide email only services. AfterMX will work together with AVO, allowing them to compliment each other.
   
23. What is AfterMX?
  AfterMX is an Email Server Software from AfterOffice. AfterMX offer web-based email access. AfterMX can be easily setup to run on Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows NT.
AfterMX works together with AVOŽs Postoffice service. For every AfterMX, a Postoffice will need to be created on AVO.
You may deploy multiple AfterMX at different sites and maintain the same domain name for all the email address across all sites. For example, most of the other competing email server solution will require you to create email address such as: "user_name@location._company_name_.com" depending on the location; where as AfterMX would allow email address such as "user_name@_company_name_.com" for all the sites.
   
24. Can I create multiple forums in bulletin?
  Yes you may create additional forum in bulletin by clicking on the icon on top of the sub-menu bar.
   
25. How do I take a message for a phone call for someone else?
  You may use the form mail for phone to do so. Select the phone option after launching a new compose mail. You may fill in accordingly to the form mail for phone.
   
26. How do I send a memo?
  You may use the form mail for Memo to send a memo to someone esle. To do so, select the Memo option after launching a new compose mail. You may fill in accordingly on the form mail for Memo.
   
27. How do I send a bookmark or URL to someone else?
  You may use the form mail for bookmark to send a bookmark or URL to someone else. To do so, select the Bookmark option after launching a new “Compose Mail”. You may fill in accordingly on the form mail for Bookmark.
   
28. Why do I keep getting a blank screen popping up?
  You may have accidentally closed the window of your main login page, the page with the main menu.
In this case, you may have to close all other windows for VO and login again.
   
29. What if our company needs multi-tier of computing?
  If an organization is planning to offer different option of messaging, collaborative and distributed computing, whether it is for budgetary or management reasons, AfterOffice is able to provide a combination of computing options. 30. How do I share my schedule with my colleague?
  The following are steps to do so:
1. Select the calendar which you intend to share with your colleague.
2. Click the "Sharing" option.
3. Key in the email address of the person with whom you intend to share.
Whatever events or items added to the selected calendar will be made available for viewing to the people to whom the calendar is shared.
   
31. How do I offer live support to the visitors of my website?
  You may activate the HumanTouch feature from AfterOffice. It allows the visitors to your site to request for immediate attention, for it being product enquiry, support, help and etc.
When a visitor request for immediate attention through HumanTouch, an IM will be sent to the support staff online. The support staff will enter into a private meeting room with the visitor.
You may activate this feature by going to "Profile"->"HumanTouch". This feature can only be activated by the Admin of the system.
   
32. What if additional Admin is required?
  You may assign additional Admin through:
Group : You may go to "Profile"->"Group" and edit the Admin group. Check the people who you would want to be Admin of the system.
Account : You may edit the individual account and upgrade their status to Admin.
   
33. What is AVOMaster?
  AVOMaster is the default Admin for all AfterOffice account.
   
34. What if I want SSL secure connection to my system?
  AfterOffice offers 2 type of SSL connections:
1. Password authentication
2. Through out your AVO session.

35. Do you offer SSL?
  AfterOffice provides complimentary service for SSL password authentication on login for customers at:
https://vo.afteroffice.com/

AfterOffice provides other modes of SSL connection as added service:

1. Individual site login password authentication.
2. SSL secured connection through out each login session.
AfterOffice also provides a selection of Certification Providers.

   
36. What are the security features offered?
  AfterOffice offers the following:

38. Can I collaborate my work with my business associates and vendors?
  You may do so if your business associates and vendors are using AfterOffice. You may also invite them to join and subscribes to AfterOffice so that you can work and share information much more effectively.
   
39. Can you help with my web design?
  AfterOffice does not offer web design service, but we will be please to recommend some web designers for you upon request.
   
40. How can I set up a user and not give him privilege to see, say storage?
  You must have Admin privilege to do so.
You should have set up UCAR groups of users.
Go to "Profile" -> "UCAR" and select the groups to which you would like to grant access for a particular object (ie Storage, bulletin, email and etc).
   
41. What is moderate level for mail group?
  This feature is currently disabled. It is only available now for development testing.
However, we believe this feature will be discarded in the future as we will be introducing new features to cover the moderation of mail group discussion.
   
42. What is UCAR?
  UCAR stands for "User Control Access Right".
You may use this feature to control the access right of each UCAR group to the different application (objects) within the system.
   
43. What is UCAR group?
  UCAR group consist a selected list of users by the Admin. UCAR group will be visible on the UCAR menu for granting access right to the different applications.
